This page lists every correction and substantive revision made to Hoax and Hindsight, newest first. No corrections have been logged as of November 6, 2026.

What gets logged

A change is logged when it alters a fact, a date, a quotation, a sentence or penalty, a test result, a source, a figure in a data table, or a score given to a predicted item. Fixing a typo or a broken link that changes no claim is not logged. When a page's own What would overturn it: field is triggered by new evidence, the resulting revision is logged here like any other correction.

How each entry is written

Each entry is a single line in the list below. It gives the date of the change in year-month-day form, a link to the page that changed, one sentence on what was corrected, and the source that shows the correction is right. The same entry, with the same date, is added on the same day to the Corrections section at the foot of the article.

How a correction is carried through

A claim can appear in several places on one page, and sometimes on other pages too. When it is corrected, every place it appears is changed together: the short answer, the Docket or Method card, comparison tables and other tables, the downloadable data file and its notes, the questions and answers, the page description, and any other page on the site that repeats the claim. The page's revision date, shown in its Cite this page block, moves to the date of the correction.

Pages are not changed silently, and history is not overwritten. The log below keeps every entry once it is made. When a judgment on a predicted item changes, the earlier grade stays in the article's data file in a column for earlier grades, under the rules on the Hindsight score page.
